Brad Davis, born Robert Creel 'Brad' Davis, was an American actor born in 1949 in Tallahassee, Florida, USA. He came from a troubled family, with his father, Eugene Davis, struggling with alcoholism and his parents subjecting him to abuse and violence during his childhood. Despite these challenges, Brad pursued his passion for acting.

Early Career

At the age of 17, Brad won a talent competition and moved to Atlanta, where he performed at Theatre Atlanta. Later, he relocated to New York City to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts while also acting in the American Place Theater.

Breakthrough Role

In the mid-70s, Brad started appearing on television in shows such as "How to Survive a Marriage," "Baretta," and "Sybil." However, his big break came in 1978 when he portrayed Billy Hayes in the thriller film "Midnight Express," directed by Alan Parker. This role earned him critical acclaim and a Golden Globe for Best Newcomer. It established him as a rising Hollywood star.

Later Career

Following the success of "Midnight Express," Brad received more substantial and challenging roles. In 1982, he played the lead in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's drama "Querelle."
